Refund Policy

All purchases in Nova Dictate are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple acts as the Merchant of Record, meaning refund requests are handled by Apple, not directly by NOVA INDIE.

1. How to request a refund from Apple

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used to purchase.
  2. Find the Nova Dictate charge, tap “Report a Problem,” and choose the appropriate reason.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.

2. What is generally refundable

  • Auto-renewable subscription (PRO Monthly USD 4.99 or PRO Yearly USD 34.99). Apple will normally consider a refund for the most recent renewal if it was unintended or if the Service has been substantially unavailable. Cancelling the subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptionsstops future renewals; refunding the current period is at Apple's discretion. If you cancel during an active 3-day introductory trial before it ends, you are not charged for that period.
  • Unused consumable token packs. If you bought a Starter Pack (60 min) or Pro Pack (300 min) and have not yet consumed any of the minutes, that is the strongest case for an Apple refund. Once minutes have been consumed, Apple may deny the request because the digital content has been used.
  • Duplicate or accidental purchases. Apple usually approves these quickly when reported promptly.

3. What is generally not refundable

  • Past billing cycles of an auto-renewing subscription that you actively used.
  • Token minutes that have already been consumed. Consumable minutes cannot be “restored” once spent.
  • Dissatisfaction with transcription accuracy, which depends on microphone quality, ambient noise, and Apple's Speech Recognition engine.

4. What happens after a refund

  • If Apple refunds a subscription period, PRO status is revoked and your account reverts to the free tier at the end of the refunded period.
  • If Apple refunds a token pack, the corresponding minutes are deducted from your balance. If your balance goes below zero, it resets to zero.
